Too old, not smart enough, or not technical enough? None of that is true
Feeling overwhelmed by AI is not a sign that you are not smart enough or not technical enough — or, for many of us further along in our careers, that it is too late to learn. It is a sign that the pace of change has been genuinely relentless, and that nobody has taken the time to explain what any of it actually means for someone sitting at an ordinary office desk.
That is exactly what this site is for.
I am not here for developers, data scientists, or people who enjoy reading technical manuals on a Sunday afternoon. I am here for the project manager drowning in paperwork, the administrator juggling twelve email threads, the accounts assistant who has heard the word “AI” forty times this week and still is not sure what it has to do with them. We are here for the person who feels like everyone else got the memo and they somehow missed it.
“You do not need to understand how any of this technology works. You just need to know what it can do for you.”
The good news — and it really is good news — is that the timing could not be better. AI tools have arrived at a moment when, for the first time in the history of computing, you do not need to know how to write code, configure software, or speak the language of IT to get enormous value from technology. You just need to know what tools to try out and just have a go. I am betting that just by dipping your toe in with this tool and that tool that in no time you will be using AI and many other tech tools much more often.
Every week on this site you will find practical, low jargon (I can’t promise no jargon, it comes with the territory) guidance on how to use the technology that is already sitting in front of you — the tools built into your email, your documents, your spreadsheets and your calendar — to work smarter, save time, and feel a great deal less overwhelmed than you do right now.
WHAT YOU WILL FIND ON THIS SITE
- Plain English explanations of tech tools including AI and what they actually do
- Step-by-step tips for using technology you already have access to
- Real examples from real office situations — low jargon, no assumptions
- News and updates about technology, filtered for what actually matters to you
- Honest answers to the questions you feel uncomfortable, even embarrassed to ask elsewhere
Whether you are 28 or 63, whether you have been using computers for decades or still find them mildly baffling, this is your corner of the internet. The AI revolution is not passing you by. You are right on time.
